In response to
encouragement from our Christian Education Commission, Cherryville Baptist
Church embarks this year on a journey through the Bible.
Making use of the scripture readings outlined in Tyndaleís NIV One Year Bible, many in
our fellowship are reading excerpts from the Old Testament, the New
Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs each day.
Participants on this spiritual
walk come together one Sunday morning each month to fellowship and to share
both how God is working in their lives through this experience and any
questions encouraged by their study of the scripture.
After a time of discussion, the group then reads portions of that Sundayís scripture
together, uniting us as body of Christ and disciples of His Word.
Even though we meet as a group just once each month, discussions in regard to our
reading of scripture are taking place all of the time.
We are excited to
find ourselves in conversation about our reading many times during the week!
Whether at our Truth Project small groups, over a meal during Menís
Breakfast, or as we come together for our Wednesday evening prayer meetings,
folks are feeling connected to each other by the reading of Godís Word,
recalling verses recently read, asking questions, and making connections.
Cherryville Baptist Church is blessed to have both our children and our
senior adults among the members participating in this endeavor; both
first-time Bible readers and those well read in Scripture have received
blessings by the reading of Godís Word and find themselves drawing closer to
