Welcome and Announcements

*Song of Invocation: “The Heart of Worship”  (Bulletin Insert)

Emily Riley, Mark Newton, Kristin Koller, and Anna Smith: Baptist Camp Lebanon Staff

*Call to Worship:  from Psalm 105

Leader:
Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done.

People: Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.

Leader: Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice. Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.

People:  Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced, O descendants of Abraham his servant, O sons of Jacob, his chosen ones.

Leader:  He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth.

People:  He remembers his covenant forever, the word he commanded, for a thousand generations, the covenant he made with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.

Leader:  He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant: “To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit.”

People:  When they were but few in number, few indeed, and strangers in it, they wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another.

Leader:  He allowed no one to oppress them; for their sake he rebuked kings: “Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm.”

People:   He called down famine on the land and destroyed all their supplies of food; and he sent a man before them— Joseph, sold as a slave. They bruised his feet with shackles, his neck was put in irons, till what he foretold came to pass, till the word of the LORD proved him true.

Leader:  The king sent and released him, the ruler of peoples set him free. He made him master of his household, ruler over all he possessed, to instruct his princes as he pleased and teach his elders wisdom.

Morning Offering

We bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord
And we offer up to You, the sacrifices of thanksgiving
And we offer up to You, the sacrifices of joy.

Scriptural Lesson: Genesis 50: 15 - 21

Scriptural Meditation:  “Joseph and Jesus”

Special Music:  “You Know Better Than I”; Keri Roberts, soloist

I thought I did what's right
I thought I had the answers
I thought I chose the surest road
But that road brought me here
So I put up a fight
And told you how to help me
Now just when I have given up
The truth is coming clear

You know better than I
You know the way
I've let go the need to know why
For You know better than I
If this has been a test
I cannot see the reason
But maybe knowing
I don't know is part of getting through
I try to do what's best
But faith has made it easy
To see the best thing I can do
Is to put my trust in You.

I saw one cloud and thought it was a sky.
I saw a bird and thought that I could follow.
But it was You who taught that bird to fly.
If I let You reach me,
Will You teach me?

For, You know better than I
You know the way
I've let go the need to know why
I'll take what answers you supply
You know better than I
