"The purpose of this church shall be the advancement of The Church of Jesus Christ.  It shall seek to obtain this through public worship of God; the preaching of the Gospel, consistent Christian living by its members, personal evangelism, missionary endeavor and Christian education."

The Cherryville Baptist Church was founded in 1849. Since that time the Good News of Jesus Christ has been the center of our life together. We submit ourselves to the authority of the Bible. In all of our worship, study, and fellowship activities we seek to lift up Jesus Christ, and to live out His commandment that we love one another. We are a family of faith, and we covenant together to rejoice with those who rejoice, and to bear one another's burdens. We seek to worship God in Spirit and in Truth, as we share God's love by baptizing and teaching in Jesus'

Pastor Tom Roberts, of Cherryville Baptist Church, and Pastor Arlnoldo Gonzalez, of Iglesia Bautista Salem, joined their congregations together on Sunday, July 24th, for a riverside service and baptisms. Eleven believers were baptized by immersion in the South Branch of the Raritan River near Millbrook Farm. Following a time of worship that included singing, prayer, Bible reading, and a message based on the book of Luke, the eleven candidates entered the river in response to Jesus' call to be baptized. About 115 worshipers were in attendance to bear witness to what Pastor Roberts describes as the "public depiction of the cleansing and transformation that has taken place in the life of the believer through faith."

"Let your hand rest on the man at your right hand, the son of man you have raised up for yourself. Then we will not turn away from you; revive us, and we will call on your name. Restore us, O LORD God Almighty; make your face shine upon us, that we may be saved." Psalm 80: 17 - 19

Today, June 1, Cherryville Baptist Church embarks on 100 days of Prayer and Scripture reading in preparation for Revival Services that we will hold on September 11 - 13. We begin "In... the beginning", with the account of creation in Genesis 1:1 - 2: 25. Our daily prayer time for revival is 8:16, am and pm, which corresponds to this year, 2016 in military time. All are invited to participate with us. Our prayer is "Deep and Wide," that our walk with the Lord would deepen, and that we would fling wide the gates of His Church! Let us know by phone or email if you would like a copy of the E100 Scriptures to join with us. Thanks and God Bless!
